Chigwell Row is a small village that falls within the Epping Forest district of Essex. The Village is around 11 miles North East of London and has been described as ‘the first village out of London’. There were several medicinal springs in Chigwell Row, but none have survived to the present day.

All Saints Church was originally built as a small church in 1867, as the initial plan designed by architect, J P Seddon, was too expensive. The building is made of bricks with Godalming stone facing and the walls are three feet thick. In 1994, there was a Pastoral Reorganisation that joined All Saints with St Mary’s and St Winifred’s to form the new Parish of Chigwell and Chigwell Row.

The Two Brewers in Chigwell Row is a spacious and relaxing place. It has a well-stocked bar, comfortable furniture and a large open fire. There had been a brewery in the area since 1729, it’s been passed to many owners over the years. The brewery has had many names, from Abridge Brewery Co to Whitbread & Co but it is unknown where the name ‘The Two Brewers’ came from.

Essex and Suffolk is a ‘water only’ supplier, with sewerage services supplied by Anglian Water (Essex, Norfolk, Suffolk and part of Upminster) and Thames Water (Greater London and part of Brentwood).
