Have you just bought a new laptop and not sure why and where you need to recycle your old laptop?
Well let’s start with some facts and figures. Did you know that as a nation we throw away more than 2 million tonnes of electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) each year, causing considerable damage to the environment in the way of ground, water and air pollution. It is therefore imperative that we as a nation, business and individuals partake in computer and laptop recycling schemes to promote sustainability and protect the environment.
WEEE & Laptop Recycling
In 2006, The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive was introduced in the UK which stipulates regulations for environmentally-compliant disposal of electronic waste. Its main aim is to encourage computer and laptop recycling, and to reduce the amount of electronic waste going straight to landfill.
